Public scrutiny of celebrities’ wardrobe choices is nothing new. Retaining a spot in the limelight comes with the understanding that many decisions, including clothing, will be scrutinized by fans and detractors alike.
Twilight star Kristen Stewart, well-acquainted with fame, made a bold statement in New York, drawing online comments aplenty.
Reports reveal Stewart, 33, wore a cream-colored shirt revealing much, with exposed bra and knitted underwear, paired with dark red stilettos and a black handbag.
It’s no surprise her revealing attire caught the online masses’ attention.
While many of Stewart’s fans praised her bold look, others took a more critical stance.
“She looks stunning. Love her audacity and newfound style,” praised one fan.
Another added, “Can do no wrong. Brilliant in every way.”
“Looking so beautiful,” chimed a third.
“I am obsessed with this look!” exclaimed another.
Predictably, some focused on Stewart’s exposed skin.
“Somebody forgot their trousers,” wrote one commenter. “This is definitely not a good look.”
“Don’t understand the recent makeover; the styling doesn’t seem to suit her at all,” chimed another.
“This inappropriate dressing needs to stop. Celebrities can parade around in their homes, but not out in public,” opined a third.
“She’s become desperate to get attention,” claimed a fourth.
Stewart is currently promoting her latest movie, Love Lies Bleeding, where she plays a secluded gym manager captivated by an ambitious bodybuilder.
Speaking on the movie, Stewart recently told The Hollywood Reporter: “The existence of a female body thrusting any type of sexuality at you that’s not designed for exclusively straight males is something people are not super comfy with and so I’m really happy with it.”
