Cheryl grows suspicious of her husband, Frank, who spends most evenings at a rented garage.

Shocked but relieved, Cheryl learns Frank performs to support the family. “Drag queens are not transgender women, honey,” Frank explains. “I only dress as a woman and perform for entertainment.” Cheryl accepts it, and they reconnect. But there’s one problem—Adam.

Adam, still under the impression Cheryl wants to be with him, becomes a liability. Pretending to love him, Cheryl poisons his wine with sleeping pills during a visit. He collapses—but survives. Days later, just as Cheryl and Frank prepare for a trip, police arrest her. “Mrs. Smith, you’re under arrest for attempted murder,” an officer declares.
