Last night, country singer Ingrid Andress captivated the crowd at the MLB Home Run Derby with her unique rendition of the national anthem.
Opinions varied widely, with some considering it one of the best, while others found it less impressive.

The four-time Grammy-nominated artist kicked off the Home Run Derby at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, with a performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” that will be remembered for years.
From the opening notes, it was clear that Andress’ rendition would make a lasting impression.

There’s no doubt that “The Star-Spangled Banner” is an incredibly difficult song to sing. To avoid potentially embarrassing performances, perhaps venues should consider using recordings of one of the best renditions of the national anthem ever—Whitney Houston’s.
